Jean Georges

After the recent visits to Jean Georges next door, I may as well post my memorable experience at the main dinning room of Jean Georges back in May.
P.S. Due to the restaurant environment, the photo quality of this set is ...um... not ideal... :(

The main dinning room is spacious, the best service I have yet came across.

It was an special occasion, I wasn't prepared and I afraid my little DC couldn't capture the beautiful of their food that night. That's being said, it was the complimentary starter. I only remember it was Fluke tartar on the right.

Sea Scallops, Caramelized Cauliflower. Their food was so fresh and tasted like no others. I love every one of their dish. ♥

Crispy Soft Shell Crab, Shiso-Yuzu mayonnaise

Sauteed Foie Gras, Young Ginger Puree & Passion Fruit.

Sweet Pea Soup, Croutons & Parmesan

Black Sea Bass with Nuts and Seeds, Sweet & Sour Jus

Maine Lobster, Potato dumplings, Smoked Butter & Pickled Chillis

The Citrus dessert platter (From upper left clockwise):
Warm Citrus Polenta with Dehydrated Grapefruit, Arugula and Crispy Fennel;
Soft Lime Gelee, Frozen Coconut, Kaffir Lime Sorbet;
Meyer Lemon Shaker Tart, Hazelnut Streusel, Meyer Lemon Sorbet;
Matcha Semi Freddo, Almond Praline, Seville Orange, Candied Kumquats (love this!)

The Rhubarb dessert platter (From upper left clockwise):
Frozen aerated Rhubarb, Creme Fraiche;
Strawberry-Rhubarb Soup, Mango, Passion Fruit and Yuzu;
Warm Honey-Rhubarb Tart, Crystallized Rose Petals;
Custard, Buckwheat Streusel.

The special dessert for our special occasion :) (how sweet is that!)

Macaron, homemade marshmellow, 2 sets of petit fours to follow.

I & G were very very pleased with our dinning tonight!

Nougatine at Jean Georges

Back from Spain, love it!~ ^^ Maybe I will have a post about the food I had in Spain sometimes later.

Back to my dining in NY, went to Jean Georges again before the trip and tried the Prix Fixe menu. I love the small portion of each dish so I can try more of different food.

Complimentary dish, Tomato Vegetable drink & Corn

Tuna Tartare, Avocado, Spicy Radish, Ginger Marinade. I had this last time during lunch, you can tell the smaller portion by looking at the spread of the radish.

Foie Gras Brulee, Pineapple-Meyer Lemon Jam. Out of all the Foie Gras dishes I tried so far, I like this brulee style the best. ^O^

Because G is not a big fans of Foie Gras, he changed his 2nd dish to this Peekytoe Crab Cake, Celeriac Remoulade with Melon Ice, which was AWESOME. The melon ice went well with the crab meat & other ingredients.

The 3rd dish was the Slowly Cooked Salmon with Japanese Rice Cake & Cherry Tomatos in Tofu Brouth. I like the color presentation of this dish so much. The salmon was tender. I also thought this was a good size in tasting menu, as I saw the table next to us order this as an entree and that portion was huge.. >__< (well, consider this was the only entree dish, that's the right portion)

Pan Seared Beef Tenderloin, Miso Butter and Roasted Brussel Sprouts. Also had this during my lunch visit last time.

The sweet part of the night, Dessert Tasting, consisted of (from upper left clockwise) Fig Tart, Strawberry Sorbet, Jean Georges' Warm Chocolate Cake and Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. All delicious as always!

HK Hell's Kitchen

Nothing so fancy here, yet it's the beauty of it

Table set.

A huge bun of crab cake with mango salsa and paprika oil. This piece was soft and you could see the crab meat in it (that's being said, crab meat taste was not strong enough)

I tried many of the Chinese soup dumpling, I expected this French Onion Soup Dumpling to be similar, with a mouthful of delicious soup. Apparently I was wrong. The dumplings were covered by a thick layer of cheese and they were full of saturated onion chops. Sweet.

Basil Lasagna with mushrooms, I like this dish a lot. I enjoy the sense of basil in every bite~
This could be very stuffy as it was pretty cheesy.

Wild Mushroom Ravioli with sun-dried tomatoes and fresh herbs.

Argo Tea Cafe

A nice place to chill~ And they have some unique drinks too~

Since when did Hibiscus drinks become popular?

They are each ChariTea & White Tea Acai Squeeze. ChariTea is sweet and taste more like cherry juice with hibiscus flavor, White Tea is less sweeten.

A big variety of tea leaves available!

They also sell sandwiches and cookies that stuff here.

Le Cirque

I went there twice, and they seated me in the bar section twice. Why? Do they have an age discrimination?

Anyway, they have the best soup I ever taste, yet!

The Chilled Melon, Cucumber and Yogurt Soup, I smelled the fresh cucumber before move my spoon. Such a chill & delightful appetizer.

The Marinated Big Eye Tuna, I think I tasted more of the guacamole than tuna, but I like it.

The Grilled Fluke and Calamari. In fact, it's a little disappointment, fluke sashimi is very cute, but grilled fluke is rather plain, and mine was over grilled. The charred area was bitter. The calamari was soft and better compare to the fluke.

The Filet Mignon at par, a bit dry inside, taste fine with the meat sauce.

The Chocolate Ganache with rose petal sorbet! I like flower sorbet very much. ^^

The Fig Tart, sweet and sour.
