David Burke Townhouse

I think I wouldn't normally come here, but since it's listed in restaurant week, I booked a table~ XD

This little place literally packed!

The complimentary starter - Tuna mousse, I wonder if it could be used as bread spread..

The appetizer of Lobster Scramble (Ostrich Style), with caviar on top. I would be trilled if the scramble was made of ostrich egg, but no.. I think they were just normal eggs served in an ostrich eggshell (this was real). I really should confirm this. :/

Pretzel Crusted Crabcake & Sweet Chili Prawn, a very cute presentation. The proportion between crab meat and cake was just right.

Handmade Cavatelli & Braised Short Ribs. The meat was soft and tasty.

The Lobster Steak, I think it could be the best dish of the night. Large lobster meat inside although the shrimp was overcooked...

Hot Strawberry Shortcake Sundae, the waiter poured the hot strawberry sauce when serving. The ice cream was melting... >__<

Orange Blossom Panna Cotta, another very good dessert. The center piece was sweet (but not very sweet) and the fruits (shredded peach & glazed cherries) were very good. :D

Overall, they have some special dishes yet for the prices they charge, I would expect some better cuisines.

Fig and Olive

I heard pretty good review on this restaurant, and since it's one of the restaurants practicing Restaurant Week, I figure it's a good chance to give it a try

The complimentary dish, Olive Oil in a trio of buttery Spanish, lighter French and green Italian. I find the Spanish olive oil the most savory, French a little plain.

Cucumber & Pink Peppercorn Mediterranean Cold Soup, I like the freshness of this soup

Steak Tartar, in other words, raw beef... I would prefer it cooked

Shrimp & Scallop Paella, grilled shrimp & scallops marinated with pimenton served
on saffron rice. absolutely tasty!

Tuscan Caramelized Cod & Garden Vegetables, both the cod and vegetables were welly glazed, delicious~

Dessert “Crostini”, local-farmed strawberries and mascarpone on shortbread. A healthy choice.

Chocolate-Agave Sorbet, I think it's the vanilla mousse over the creamy chocolate, with a moist yet crisp chocolate bark.

Very satisfied with the service and food here~

Brasserie

Went to Brasserie a while ago, the photos came out very noisy... I don't remember it was that dark inside...hmm

There is a bar right next to the dining tables. We were there early, the waiter seated us on a table next to the bar. Apparently some company was having happy hour that night. The music got so loud and the bar area got very crowded later, which I didn't realize until we started our meal. The waiter has done a very poor job on seating. -__-# I couldn't enjoy my meal at all!!

As to the food, we got this Freeze Ginger Carrot Soup with goat cheese. The waiter highly recommended this. I tasted the ginger and carrot, but it's only at par.

Foie Gras au Torchon with passion fruit sauce on side. The foie gras itself wasn't fascinating...

The Jumbo Lump Crab Cake, I was expecting more taste of crab meat than cake...

Pan Seared Sea Scallops with shallots was good (but it wouldn't fill my stomach...)

The Lobster Risotto with green asparagus and fava beans was also very good.

Meyer Lemon Tart with ginger ice for dessert. I like the idea of ginger ice.

All and all, this restaurant is overrated.

Shima Japanese Restaurant

The Black cod roll here caught my attention.
I love the Japanese style cod, so I definitely want to try it.

The White Tuna Tataki with giner, citrus soy sauce, the tuna tasted a little fishy... could be better

This is what I am talking about~ Altho the first bite tasted like an ell roll. I would just try their cod next time.

Tuna Guacamole, didn't taste as cute as it looks... >__<

Philadelphia (smoked salmon & cream cheese), salty.. well, because both ingredients are salty.

The restaurant has a pretty good review, I think I just ordered the wrong dishes...

Nougatine Jean Georges

Went to Jean Georges for a casual lunch. Pre-fix for $26. The food there is always highly enjoyable!

Tuna Tartare, Avocado, Spicy Radish & Giner marinade, I like the sourness from the broth

Shrimp Salad with Avocado, Tomato and Champagne Vinegar Dressing. The shrimp was warm with the dressing.

Pan Seared Beef Tenderloin, Miso Butter & Roasted Brussel Sprouts. The green spices under the beef gave a very special taste to the beef :P

Pan Roasted Cod, Warm cranberry beans, leek vinaigrette, delicious with the tomato sauces!

Jean-Georges' Warm chocolate cake with Vanilla bean ice cream. Rich filling in the fallen chocolate cake.

Pistachio ice cream with wine infused peach, crunch macadamia & pistachio nuts ♥

Happy stomach~ Off to the Rose Center Planetarium for a walk~

Thainy

Thainy has the SUPER value lunch! Pick one appetizer & one dish for $6.95, I think that's a pretty good deal in midtown. The food is average, but very nice hip decor.

The place is very nice, with different themes too (check out their website~)

Thai Salad

Crab Dumpling, tho I didn't taste any crab... nice try.

Vegeterian Duck with Basil Sauce, looks yummy~

Beef with Cashew Nuts Sauce, tasted good~

Dessert the Fried Banana, can't go wrong with this :P

Megu

Taking advantage of the extended restaurant week~ ..^‿^..

To be honest, I like their menu very much! But beware of these tailored portions.

The Sauteed Scallops with Foie Gras sauce. One of the best scallops I tasted ≧▽≦

Crispy "Kanzuri" Shrimp, mild spicy, the crust was little oily.

The Kobe Beef "Kagero" Filet Steak, the steak was set on the stone, and waiter pour the sauce in front of you so you see the flame (last only seconds). The meat itself was very tender and juicy, portion was SMALL, yet Kobe beef is a bargain at this price.

The Silver Cod with Yuzu Miso. As always, Japanese cod is my all time favorite ..^‿^.. Nicely sauteed.

Yuzu Chocolate Mousse Cake, unique yet combine so well with the chocolate!

Matcha Greentea Crepe, soft and creamy ♥

Playing with the magic of light!~ Cheers~
