Sea Grill
The past week I went to Sea Grill, the restaurant next to the Rockefeller Ice Skating Rink. As we seated next to the big window, we could enjoy the people outside skating and our food. XD
The complimentary dish was a little fishy, the paste beneath it went well with the fish.
The House-Cured Smoked Salmon with avocado and cilantro chive vinaigrette, tasted simply yet fresh.
The Sweet Potato Bisque, and lobster-coconut royale. The soup was not creamy in texture, yet sweet and delicious.
The Middle course of Sea Grill's Signature Crab Cake, when was the last time you had a crab cake with crab more than cake?! Look at this!
The Wild Ocean Striped Bass, wasn't all that surprising... The mussel was good.
The Rigatoni Pasta Bolognese - with lamb, wild mushrooms and sheep's milk ricotta cheese. The portion was generous, and the lamb was tasty.
Here came the dessert, the caramelized apple tart with almond paste.
The Chocolate Pot de Creme and the chocolate pearls on top was so good~

Delmonico's
2011 Winter Restaurant Week has started, I picked 2 restaurants for these 2 weeks~
The 1st one was Delmonico's, apparently Delmonico's building / restaurant have many 1st in the history.
Wild Mushroom Risotto, it didn't look attractive in the picture, but it tasted great! Topped with pine nuts and aged pecorino.
Seared Sea Scallop, braised veal and butternut squash
The 1867 Classic Lobster Newberg, cooked in brandy, cream and caviar. This was no joke, 2 whole lobsters cover by carrots and vegetable, the sauce was rich and so flavorful, I even dipped my fluke into it... :P
The daily market catch was fluke, I think I would appreciate it more if it's in a broth. There were white beans and sausage underneath it.
The Classic Baked Alaska was quite an artwork! It was walnut cake and banana gelato covered by some kind of cream.
Although the Chocolate Hazelnut cake looked very plain compare to the Alaska, it tasted so much better and rich in flavor, there were little crispy dots in the layer and I really enjoy it!

Jojo
Priorities always catching up my schedule, before I notice, January is gone!?
I went back to Jojo for another delicious meal.
The complementary dish - some soup with truffle float.. I didn't quite get what soup it is, taste smooth yet little plain.
The Shrimp salad, dusted in orange powder, artichokes, arugula. Didn't realize it's a salad when ordering, the shrimp was warm and good.
The Peekytoe Crabmeat with mango and cumin crackers. The dish was fine, but the cracker was so easily crack that it couldn't really hold the crabmeat, made it a little hard to eat :( I still like the crabmeat with mango tho!
The Cod, roasted with marinated vegetables in an aromatic tomato sauce. I guess roasted cod is little dry in general.
Compare to the cod, the Veal was really juicy, with carrot and sweet onion compote, parmesan jus.
The Passion Pavlova with whipped cream, passion fruit ice cream and passion seeds. This could be my favorite dessert! The crispy shelf was sweet and crunch, with the sweet and sour passion fruit, love it~
Apple Pain Perdu (hmmm...), vanilla sauce, butterscotch, green apple sorbet
Last but not least, finish the meal with the green tea and chocolate cake, with waffle layer to create the crunchiness ( ≧▽≦)♥

Babycakes
What makes cupcake different from one another? What makes Babycakes' cupcake so delicious?
The frosting is so smooth, and the best part is it's not super sweet! Babycakes offer gluten free cupcakes as well. At the moment I don't know what gluten is, however, I think I am so blessed that I don't need to know what gluten is.
The awards and my half eaten Lemon cupcake :P
The store counter.
